The Tower Challenge Shoot

The Tower Challenge - 25 th January 2026 A huge thank you to everyone that attended and supported the Tower Challenge. Following on from the success of the other Xtreme events this one was especially tough, but a great opportunity to officially open the new Tower. We had a lot of fun, and in the process, the extra funds raised now gives us around £700 in the pot towards the additional materials we needed for the tower and our plans to revamp the remote boxes to make them more responsive. Thanks to everyone for their help on the day and to Darrell Etherington and Steve Harman for designing the layout. Many thanks to Terry Trevatt for sorting the Champagne opening of the Tower and for Wee Andy Hind for the most amazing Cake!! The order of the day was as follows (total of 100 birds): 1 Mobile low Standard and very high Midi from the Tower 2 Fast following pair of Standards left to right down the track 3 Random fast following pair of Midi’s from the Wobbler 4 Random high SIM-Par, Midi from Wobbler and high Standard 5 Peek a Boo lazy distant Standard and fast L-R low Standard behind the Tower 6 Rising Battue and High Standard overhead 7 Quartering L-R Rabbit and high Midi overhead on report 8 SIM-Pair, distant Battue and high Teal looping around the Tree 9 SIM-Pair, crossing Midi and Standard from top and bottom of Tower 10 The 'infamous' Flurry, with random delay, this time with a distant Rabbit We had the usual splash of F&F Banter and luckily no Horseflies or moving trees. Due to overrunning a little and a few challenges during the day, some people didn’t get to shoot the last two stands so the final scores are out of 80 to cover the stands that everyone had a chance to shoot. Congratulations to 2Bob who scored a very impressive 50 which given how tricky some of the stands were is an amazing score.
