Details of the scoring system
Season 41 - September 2024 to August 2025 Osney Lodge Shoot 4 of 20, Sunday 26 th October 2025 The 4 th shoot of the season, a dry very sunny day (nice and bright for Rob!) but a little chilly for some. Another great attendance with 25 members and 1 guest shooting. A very warm welcome to our latest member, our wee Scotsman Andy has been invited for Membership and duly accepted. We did try to put him off but he loves the banter, owns a Beretta (but hasn’t risked bringing it to the shoot yet) and we can’t understand a word he says - so basically a perfect fit!!! Welcome onboard Andy, you’ve been added into League 3 and guest scores transferred over. The setup looked a bit of a challenge and was for some, however, there were some excellent scores posted and despite the difficulty our resident Tower Builder 2Bob slotted in an amazing 59!! - must be the 9 load he is using giving him that edge!! We had no less that six new personal bests posted in League 3 - from top to bottom, a fabulous 55 from Lee, a cracking 52 from Duncan, a great 41 from Tom, a nice 40 from Anton, a brilliant 32 from Louise (much to Rob’s disgust as he only got 27 - possible it was too bright) and, last but not least, our newest member Andy posted a wee 25. Well done everyone, a nice setup and some great shooting. We had a couple of trap issues which we’re pretty sure are battery related so we’ll aim to get this fixed before the next shoot. The Tower is slowly progressing and we’re planning another build day soon so hope to have this operational in November. The new members handbook with all the dates for the full season will be published soon - we’re just waiting for confirmation of the horse shows in the adjacent field. Usual thanks to the following: Graham, Kevin, Tom & Darrell for the photos Geoff for managing the shooting fees, gusts and memberships etc. Darrell and Steve for setting up the shoot Steve for cooking up a great BBQ and for getting the food Kevin for a massive battery charging session, yes he took all 10 home to charge & increase his carbon footprint! Everyone that helped pack away and dispose of the rubbish, and anyone for anything else we’ve forgotten …. A fair few photos for today, a few shown below or you can click here for the full Season 41 gallery. The Founders Trophy The Founders Trophy was created in 2015 by three of the original founding members of F&F, Roy Grogan, George Lake and Brian Sandle (see the Club History page for more information on how the club was formed). First presented at the 30 th Anniversary Shooting Tour on the Isle of Wight in 2015, the Trophy is given to members who have significantly contributed to the club. The winner keeps the Trophy for one year and decides who will be the next member to win at the Annual Shooting Tour.
2015 The Trophy was created this year by the founder members and presented to Darrell Etherington for work on the creation and maintenance of the clubs web site, scores and AGM. Also, for the maintenance and development of the electronics for the Auto Traps.
2016 Awarded to Brendan O’Reilly for his outstanding contributions to the Club. As the clubs regular travel agent he’s arranged many fantastic Annual Shooting Tours. He also helps with clay collections, trap maintenance, the move of the club hut and lots more.
2017 Awarded to Ruth & Tony Tatman for their outstanding contributions to the Club. Ruth & Tony are both very dedicated members of the F&F Club and provided us with Ruthie’s Café every shoot until they retired to Cornwall. They continue to be dedicated long distance members of the club.
2018 Awarded to Geoff Pelling for his outstanding work as Membership Secretary. Geoff took up the function of Membership Secretary in 2017 and has done a fantastic job of ensuring memberships are valid, paid up on time and, more importantly, putting safety first by making sure all members and guests have a valid Shotgun Certificate and insurance.
